Cerner – New CEO Impressions

We hope you find this article interesting and informative. We used our Reaction research platform to gather all of the data for it. Whether you’re a hospital, clinic, payer, or vendor, you too can use our platform for your own research programs and projects.

Changes at the top of a major healthcare tech company doesn’t happen very often so when Cerner hired its second CEO in the past three years that’s the definition of big news. CEOs often get too much credit, or too much blame, for the successes (or failures) of a business, but they invariably set the cultural tone for an organization which typically results in significantly impacting customers.

Reaction pinged clinicians and hospital executives in its Research Cloud to gather their thoughts on David Feinberg and Cerner. Below are a few tidbits.

David Feinberg is still only a relatively recent hire by Cerner so it’s interesting to note that nearly 2/3rds of the industry is already aware of him taking over the captain’s seat at Cerner.

A fascinating result from the data is that only 6% have a negative perception of Dr. David Feinberg. Other pulses of the market Reaction has done on other CEO hirings haven’t been nearly so positive. Cerner looks to have a bit of wind at their back.

It appears Cerner has more goodwill than it’s had in years. If, and that’s a big if, Cerner can execute at a higher level than they have in the recent past, the hiring of Dr. David Feinberg could be a watershed moment for Cerner.

There’s a lot more data (on David and Cerner) than we posted in this article but we hope you found these tidbits interesting and informative nonetheless. Thanks for reading…
